To facilitate the professional development of its members, COA, in partnership with the Commissioned Officers Foundation, offers a number of educational opportunities, including events such as the USPHS Scientific and Training Symposium and scholarships.

The Commissioned Officers Foundation offers thousands of dollars towards college scholarships for children and spouses of COA members.
